What’s New? - February 2022

I hope you all had a great February and are all staying warm (or cool, as the case may be) this winter. We had a little bit of a heatwave this month here in Arizona, though not as high as it got in California! I haven’t lived in Ohio for going on 9 years now and I’m still not used to needing to stay cool during the winter!

Let’s talk about what’s new here at Random Acts of Cardness as well as some March events we have on the horizon.

Cards Sent This Month

Here’s a little glimpse at some of the smiles that have been sent and received through our group this month!

Valentine’s Day Card Exchange

Our Valentine’s exchange was a huge success and we even had multiple schools and nursing homes get involved, too! Valentine’s cards are even still being received 2 weeks later. Here are some of the gorgeous cards that were sent and received through Random Acts of Cardness!

Birthday, Get Well, and Just Because Cards

Each month, our Card Warriors send hundreds of smiles out in the world for birthdays, get well and thinking of you requests, anniversaries, and much, much more! Here are some that have been sent this month!

St. Patrick’s Day Card Exchange

Our St. Patrick’s Day Card Exchange is well on its way with cards being sent and received almost daily!

March Birthdays and Anniversaries

Our March birthday and anniversary list is has been posted in the group! This coming month, we are celebrating 132 birthdays of members from the age of one to 90! We are also celebrating 7 anniversaries of members who are celebrating from 4 to 32 years of marriage!

Stories Shared

Our members shared stories of how sending and receiving cards through Random Acts of Cardness has impacted them! Read their stories or submit your own at Impact Stories!

Disneyland Mailboxes and More

I took a day trip to Disneyland for my birthday and had a blast finding all the mailboxes to create a blog post for all those who love all things postal mail and Disney! Take a virtual tour with me or use the downloadable quick guide while you are at the parks by visiting the “Magical Mailboxes (and Where to Find them)” blog post.

I was also able to visit the newly opened Lovepop store in Downtown Disney while I was there. Their cards are absolutely stunning and they had so many gorgeous Disney cards (and so many adorable cards for Valentine’s Day). I included this in the Q&A on the Magical Mailboxes blog post, but wanted to echo it here because I adore them: “Lovepop is a company I am extremely passionate about supporting, especially after they made a massive donation to an organization that sends cards to seniors in homes and assisted living facilities across the country. Let’s show them as much love as they showed the seniors and give them a warm welcome to Disneyland by supporting them and buying some of their stunning cards!”

Here’s a few pictures of the Lovepop store as well as some pictures of the Disneyland mailboxes I didn’t include in the blog post!

Zazzle Shop

We previously used Spreadshirt for some minimal print on demand goodies like t-shirts and bags, but I have been looking to expand for quite some time now. I have been trying out many sites over the past few months and I think I have finally found the perfect one: Zazzle! Zazzle not only has t-shirts and bags just like Spreadshirt does, but there is also a massive catalog of items I can customize including return address stamps, labels, stickers, cards, and more!

Currently, in the shop we have some return address stamps with our new logo, stickers, mailable hug cards, and some hand-lettered cards, and more!. If you have anything you’d like me to add, please don’t hesitate to reach out!

I am not looking to make money off of this group. That has never been and will never be my goal. Any money I make, whether it be from label, sticker, and stationery sales, referrals, or print on demand products is put right back in to the group. Money is used to help cover some of the monthly expenses including Canva (designing), graphics subscriptions, the website subscription, and more. If there is anything left, it is spent on postage and supplies. It took me a very long time to feel comfortable promoting anything in the group and I’m going to be honest, sometimes I do still feel a bit shy about it, but the reception I have received has been nothing but positive and for that, I am truly grateful.

If you’d like to buy something, please check out the shop here!

Free Printables

We have lots of new free printables for our Card Warriors to use for their cards including our first set which contains stationery, labels, stickers, and card fronts all featuring a fall pumpkin theme. Yes, I know it’s February. What can I say? I was inspired by the beautiful pumpkin graphic! Check it out and download it here.

We also have our first free printable coloring page titled “Spring Fun” which was sent in by Sumita Bose! Download it here and send it in your cards to celebrate the start of spring!
